Keep Our Ambulance Rolling

Repair the Rucker: Keep Our Ambulance Rolling

Here at the National Museum of Civil War Medicine, one of our most important hands-on resources is a reproduction ambulance wagon. For nearly a decade this wagon has served as a valuable interpretive tool to educate visitors of all ages about the sacrifices and tribulations of stretcher bearers, drivers, and surgeons. It is a visual reminder that the Civil War gave birth to the modern ambulance system that ensures emergency care is always just around the corner. However, as a popular instrument for school tours, our ambulance has seen its fair share of wear and tear.

By donating to our year end appeal, you can ensure that children and adults alike will continue to enjoy and learn from this important tool for years to come. Hansen Wheel and Wagon, a prestigious wagon construction and restoration company with thirty-five years of experience, will repair and refit our ambulance wagon. To that end, our goal is to raise $20,000 through this appeal. If every member gives a little, it will add up to a lot.

As a registered 501(c)3 non-profit your gift is tax deductible, and you will receive a letter of gratitude acknowledging your generous donation. We couldn’t do this without you. For your generous support, we are immensely grateful.
